Actress and entrepreneur Parul Gulati closed her stunning Cannes Film Festival debut with a powerful fashion moment — reaffirming not just her red carpet credentials, but also her growing influence as a savvy brand builder. Known for her thriving hair extension business, Parul turned heads and captured media buzz, effortlessly blending glamour with entrepreneurial grit on the global stage.
This past weekend, she made headlines across the world for her daring handmade ensemble made entirely of human hair, which was a tribute to her business endeavours with her hair extension enterprise!
For her final appearance, Parul Gulati brought a bold, modern twist to the traditional Indian saree, redefining it with a fresh, revolutionary spirit. The statement ensemble, designed by Riddhi Bansal and styled to perfection by Mohit Rai, blended heritage with high fashion in the most compelling way.
She wore a specially made Banarasi tissue saree that had been soaked in resin to give the appearance of being sculpted and wet-look. A smooth fusion of tradition and modernity, the silver translucent drape adhered to her body like a second skin.
Regarding her total Cannes experience, Parul Gulati shared, “When the world was hit by COVID in 2020, my acting career took a major setback. I came very close to letting go of my dream of becoming a leading actress.” She added with a smile, “During that time, I found comfort in watching La La Land — it became one of my favourite films and a source of hope.”
Emma Stone is my favourite actress and I particularly like her statement, “Maybe I’m not good enough.” I have experienced the moment. In contrast to the large number of auditions we do, we receive relatively few callbacks. We don’t realise how painful it is.
Watching Emma in Eddington in a Cannes theater was more than simply a screening; it was a reminder that I persevered long enough to see my dream come true and to breathe the same air as someone who unintentionally helped me get through my darkest moments.”
