Hrithik Roshan Signs His First South Indian film; His collaboration with KGF makers Hombale Films is set to be pan-India spectacle

Hrithik Roshan has embarked on a new cinematic journey by joining forces with Hombale Films, the production powerhouse known for pan-India blockbusters like the KGF franchise (2018 & 2022), Kantara (2022) and Salaar (2023). This landmark collaboration marks the actor’s first venture with a South Indian banner, promising a fusion of star power and storytelling prowess.

Hombale Films announced the exciting news on its official social media handles. The post announced:

This ambitious project unites one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars with a production house that has demonstrably cracked the code for pan-India cinematic triumphs. While specific details about the film’s genre, timeline, or additional cast members remain under wraps, the announcement alone has ignited fervent anticipation among film-buffs.

Vijay Kiragandur, founder of Hombale Films, reportedly said that by collaborating with Hrithik, who’s often called the Greek God of Bollywood, he was taking a step forward in telling stories that transcend boundaries through his banner. He also feels that the film that will emerge from this collaboration will be a powerful culmination of intensity and imagination on a grand scale.

Hrithik echoed the filmmaker’s sentiment, appreciating Hombale’s track record as “home to some very unique stories over the years.” This collaboration also resonates with the actor’s publicly shared views on the evolving Indian film industry and the audience’s role in shaping its future.

In response to a question on South Indian movies and OTT platforms doing better than North Indian films during the promotion of Vikram Vedha (2022), he emphasised on a unified vision. “I don’t make difference between the South Indian cinema and North Indian cinema. For me, it is the Indian film industry,” Hrithik said, adding, “Our audiences should be exposed to all kinds of cinema. Their taste should get better and better.”

Hrithik Roshan further elaborated on the need for self-correction within the industry and stated, “Our films which are not coming up to that level should fail. Woh failure se, thappad se things will change. They should get up and do something now that caters to this new audience, new minds, new eyes, new perspectives. If their tastes does not change, our films will not change and I feel our films need to change. So, everything is going on point. It is absolutely perfect jo ho raha hai.”

Hrithik’s new venture adds another significant project to his impressive upcoming slate, which already includes the highly awaited War 2, and Krrish 4. The latter, in fact, will not just see him resuming his superhero duties, but also make his debut as a director.
