With a passion for acting that began in childhood, she refined her craft through rigorous training at Adishakti before navigating Mumbai’s fiercely competitive audition circuit with resilience and determination.

Her breakthrough came in the post-pandemic era, where impactful commercial campaigns opened new doors, eventually leading her into the world of digital entertainment. Since then, Chaitali Kohli has built an impressive body of work across web series, films, television and advertising, effortlessly bringing depth and authenticity to every character she portrays.

Her growing filmography reflects remarkable versatility, with memorable performances in acclaimed projects including Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors, RaanBaazaar, City of Dreams, Potluck, BroFounders, and Karate Girls. She further strengthened her growing body of work with a role in the 2024 hit Crew and is now gearing up for exciting upcoming projects, including Jamnapaar and Mistry.

Beyond acting, Chaitali Kohli is also known as a pioneering body-positive belly dance instructor, inspiring confidence and self-expression through movement. Q1. Which two projects of yours are closest to your heart?

Chaitali Kohli. Crew is undoubtedly my favourite project, followed by Bold Care. Both hold a special place in my heart because they were incredibly enjoyable experiences. I had a great time working on them, and they remain very close to me.

Q2. What inspired your stunning saree look for this photoshoot?

Chaitali Kohli. I was thinking about the kind of characters I would love to portray and Jait Re Jait, along with Smita Patil’s powerful look in the film, immediately came to mind. That became my reference point. I wanted to create a strong, rooted look that reflected my Maharashtrian heritage. Surprisingly, I’ve never had the opportunity to portray a character from that world, so this shoot gave me the chance to explore a different side of myself.

Q3. The entertainment industry has evolved with more platforms than ever before, but there’s also greater competition. How do you view this changing landscape?

Chaitali Kohli. More platforms and more actors have always been part of the industry in one way or another. Despite the competition, I truly believe everyone eventually finds their place. If you’re passionate about acting and committed to your craft, you’ll find your audience. Every actor brings something unique, and it’s important to discover and nurture your own voice.

Q4. What are the two changes you would like to see in the entertainment industry?

Chaitali Kohli. The first would be creating a better working environment. Every actor, regardless of whether they’re a lead or not, deserves clean vanity vans, hygienic bathrooms, proper changing spaces, and basic facilities. These essentials should never be considered luxuries.

Secondly, I’d love to see more systematic working processes. Having worked in the advertising industry, I’ve experienced how structured shoots can be in terms of working hours, payments, and overall coordination. While no system is perfect, I believe the entertainment industry can certainly benefit from better organisation and professionalism.

Q5. What is your dream role?

Chaitali Kohli. I dream of portraying a character that’s so emotionally powerful it changes the way the industry sees me. I want it to become the defining performance of my career.

Q6. What has 2026 taught you so far?

Chaitali Kohli. Patience. I’ve learned to value my work more and trust that good opportunities come at the right time. The key is to stay consistent and keep believing in the process.

Q7. What does fitness mean to you today?

Chaitali Kohli. Fitness has become one of my biggest passions. I’ve recently transformed my lifestyle, dropped two sizes, and that journey continues to inspire me every single day. It’s no longer just about looking good — it’s become a way of life. I genuinely enjoy spending time at the gym and taking care of myself.

Q8. Who inspires you in Bollywood and why?

Chaitali Kohli. There are so many actors I admire. Anil Kapoor is someone who constantly reinvents himself with every role. Every performance feels fresh and different. Kareena Kapoor is another inspiration because she keeps experimenting and consistently connects with audiences. I believe that’s exactly how actors should evolve — by challenging themselves with every new project.
